GATHERING

Welcome Statement    (in Unison)
Pastor Suzy Todd

As followers of Jesus, we are committed to welcoming and loving everyone as Jesus did, without regard to ability, race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, family make-up or religion. We embrace the principles of love over hate, inclusion over bias, respect over prejudice, equality over bigotry, and caring for all. Therefore, we reject all messages of hate and exclusivism as antithetical to the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are committed to living out non- discriminating love in our lives, worship, study and service. We are Dearborn First United Methodist Church.

Call to Worship
Pastor Suzy Todd

Healing God, be with us in this hour.

Too often our cares and our worries obstruct our ability to see you.

Restoring God, speak a word of comfort to your troubled people.

Help us hear you in the quietness and in the chaos.

Strengthening God, give us persistence and grit to face the day.

Make us speakers and doers of your justice.

CONFESSION & PARDON
Pastor Suzy Todd

Our minds and bodies fall into turmoil. We get caught up in anxiety, exhaustion and sadness. We can be irritable and condemning. Shame overtakes us. Come and sit beside us.

Passing Peace
Pastor Suzy Todd

Reconciled with God, we now turn toward reconciliation with one another.
Turn and offer one another the peace and joy of Christ.

Prayers of the People
Pastor Suzy Todd and Matt Roush

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
